Best flea and tick repellent for dogs

I just had to pull a tick out of my dog's mouth. She was on trifexus, which the vet had gave us to give her. But was only good for one month, and we don't have the money to take her for another vet visit (it's a $60 vet visit plus like 80 (?) For the trifexus.) What are some good cheaper ones? We go outside/hiking with her alot, and are saving up for a better repellent, we just need something until we can get her the shot she needs.
