Metformin & AF is late

I was diagnosed with PCOS a while ago, & the doc put me on Metformin to help with my PCOS issue. I've been taking Metformin for almost two weeks & my period was due today but no signs of symptoms of it :( I don't know if Metformin can cause a late period or not, but any insight would be very helpful. My husband and I have been TTC #1 for 5 months now and I don't want to stress out :(
