Car seats ?

I'm looking for a good car seat that's not too expensive. I was given a car seat but it has not sun visor thing on it to keep sun out of baby's eyes I'm due June 20, so I wanna find a nice one just in case baby comes early or is this one fine ?

You can get a great baby carrier for under $100 now, and some fire houses have them for free if money is an issue. Check the expiration date. You'll use it nine months to a year; I'd  get a new one.

I wouldn't use it. Carseats are the most important thing to have new. Unless you know everything about it then I'd deem it unsafe.

Check the expiration date on the Carseat you were given because plastics breakdown especially when left in a hot car. And if you trust that the used car seat was never in an accident I don't a problem with using it.  But at the same time the canopy is nice to keep the sun of babies eyes.

If you trust where you got it from and you know everything about it, the car seat is safe to use! (Granted it hasn't been in any car accidents or anything!). If you are looking for a canopy, you can search Google for the name and brand of your car seat and look for the canopy that goes with it! 
Some moms will disagree with this, and that's perfectly fine, to each its own. But if you are comfortable with it and it's what you seem best, you can also buy car seat canopies that are custom. That's completely up to you and what you want. Some women disagree with it because it will void the warranty but I've seen tons of moms do it!(:

If it's used I would say do not use it, car seats are not meant to be re-sold/re-gifted. Plus if it's ever taken on a plane it is considered damaged, so without knowing every detail the car seat has been through I would never feel safe putting my child in a used seat.

I would definitely get a new one! I loved my $99 Baby Trend Infant Car Seat. I got it at Target & only bought it b/c it's all I could afford at the time. I never thought I'd actually like it enough to choose it again, even if I had all the money in the world, but I would. I ended up getting the matching stroller later on. Buying them together as a travel system saves you around $100 & having a stroller that the Carseat will connect to is something I couldn't have gone without personally!
