Ugh! Heartburn already?!

Question

I remember having hellacious heartburn with my last pregnancy in the third tri but now, at only 16 weeks, it seems as if it's coming on strong already and here to stay.  I am already popping Tums but I even get it when I just drink water!  I am bigger because I have twins on board but not looking forward to this.  What do you ladies do to help combat heartburn?

I got mine at 7 weeks. Light milk helps (full fat milk doesn't, don't know why) light yoghurt, watermelon is a godsend!

Prilosec has been an absolute lifesaver. I take it early on days when i know I'll be going hard on some food 😜 also avoiding certain foods helps too but where's the fun in that

I've had bad heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion my entire pregnancy so far. I can get it from a glass of water too. My midwife suggested I avoid caffeine, carbonation, chocolate, spicy food, and fatty food; that I remain upright for two hours after eating; and that I eat 5-6 small meals a day. Laying down on your right side makes it worse too because it tips stomach acid into your esophagus.

Honestly for me though none of that advice has helped. It doesn't matter what I eat, how much, or whether or not I'm upright. I've been taking tums and Zantac and that barely makes a difference. I have an appt again the 19th and hoping to talk about a stronger prescription option because I'm miserable. I hate food right now and haven't gain any weight yet. 😕

Drink lots of milk,  and if it gets bad enough talk to your doctor and they can prescribe something to you for it. I have it REALLY bad but I just deal with it,  I've gone through 2 big containers of tums and lots of milk (im 31 weeks today) I wake up in the middle of the night in tears because of how bad my heartburn is :/

I only had it from my glucose test but I had it for 4 days or so. I did it all; tums, a piece of white bread, a pickle/pickle juice, yogurt, milk, and zantac. I actually think either the bread or pickle helped some and of course the zantac I took.

I've had heartburn since I was 4 weeks.. hopefully this baby has a full head of hair cause this heartburn better not be for nothing 😉
