Pain comparison: Induced VS Natural Start Labor

My OB told me that now that I've turned 39 weeks I have the option of being induced, I quickly said no because there's nothing wrong with my pregnancy that requires me to be induced. Not only that but I've also heard that induction labor hurts EXTREMELY more than going into labor naturally.

Is this true?
