Do opks ALWAYS have a second line ?

I know the opk test line needs to be as dark or darker to be positive but does a faint line mean you're approaching ovulation? Or will there always be a faint line even if you're not close to ovulation?

You can have LH in your body throughout your entire cycle so there might be a light line multiple times during the month. A dark test line doesn't guarantee ovulation either, it just means it could happen soon. So some months you could have a test line darken, then lighten, then darken again a few days later. It depends on how much Lh is in your system. You may or may not have a second line. Straight after my period I have no second line, but closer to ovulation the 2nd line shows.

My first one a few days ago didn't have a second line at all, the next day it did.

I've had lots of times where I'll always get atleast one test that has no second line.
