Do you think housework is a form of exercise?

Dishes (hand washed or dishwasher), doing laundry, sweeping and moping floors, dusting....

My mom owns a cleaning service and I help her out from time to time, I sweat my butt off and I'm relatively in shape. The houses she does are huge though, like 6 bedrooms + so it's a lot of work. But even my 4 bedroom house, or my old 1 bedroom apartment I definitely think it's exercise lol

There was a study done a while ago on hotel maids. They told half the maids that what they did was exercise (true) and didn't tell the other half. After a while, the maids who knew they were exercising on the job had lost weight and were healthier! It's absolutely exercise. I guess the maids who didn't know they were exercising didn't take advantage of all their movements.

Dishes maybe not especially not in the dishwasher lol but some cleaning is exercise.

It isn't enough for me but it'd be nice if it was. I use to work at an equestrian facility years ago and that work was exercise. Kept me in great shape. When I stopped I gained weight. No amount of household chores were enough exercise to keep me in shape.

I was a night custodian at a high school and all I did was clean for 8 hrs.  Loved that job!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I've recently started working out. I feel so exhausted afterwards. So after a work i tell myself that the housework is jus a lil more exercise.
