Is this weird?

So my SO left a while ago for work and I don't know how long it will be until I see him again and ever since he left I've kind of become afraid of the dark. I hate being in the dark by myself while he's gone. I used to love the dark now I dread it and don't feel safe. I hate this feeling. Some opinions on why this might be would be greatly appreciated.

It's not weird at all. In essence you've lost your "security blanket" in your SO. You're unsettled by the change and no doubt feeling insecure and a little anxious/unsafe atm. You will adjust. In the meantime, keep a light on, play music or do other things to keep your mind off it. Or call a different friend a night to chat til you feel more secure

Turn the lights on, and call a friend. Or can you call your SO on his lunch break?  I have a night light in the hall, it's really for that kids to see if they need to use the potty, but I like it too. Do you have a dog or cat to cuddle? Sometimes I invite my sister over for a sleepover when I know my husband has to travel. Or I'll build a sheet fort for the kids and I in the living room to sleep in.

not weird... just something psychological going on with you. maybe fill this void in your life with activities that you can enjoy and be passionate about on your own.

my man is in the marines and gets deployed for extremely long spouts of time. if i did not have anything to occupy myself i would go bizerk myself.
