Childbirth after hip surgery

Monica • My husband and I are 36 and 35, high school sweethearts, married in 2005, son Gavin born 11-27-15. PSU grad, work for small newspaper as a reporter.
Are there any other moms out there who have had hip surgery and went on to have a vaginal birth with no complications? I broke my left hip in 2010 and was also diagnosed with osteoporosis. One of my first questions for the surgeon was about childbirth, and he said he's had patients with more serious hip injuries deliver vaginally just fine.
I'm 11 weeks and my obgyn doesn't have any concerns, but I'd like to hear from other women who have had a similar experience. My fracture was a clean break and required just a metal plate and screws, as opposed to a partial or full replacement.
