IUD - should I get one?

Question

I'm looking into getting a non-hormonal IUD.  Is the insertion painful?  Have you had any problems with it coming out? Pregnancy problems after removal? Thanks!

I have had one put in twice, both times was no big deal. I got pregnant the same month I had the first one removed and went on to have a healthy full term baby. I got pregnant six months after getting my second one out and am awaiting the arrival of those babies this summer.

I've had two, got pregnant within weeks of removal of my first one. Love the convinience of not having to remember daily birth control. I did have some light cramping and spotting with insertion but so worth it

I got one last month. For me, it was really painful, but it only lasts as long as the insertion takes, about 2 min. I had cramping for 5 days and spotting for 3 weeks straight. But now everything is back to normal. It was definitely worth it!
