Will taking the medicine be more painful?

Question

I started brown spotting this Sunday and have had very mild(panty liner) bleeding since then with lil cramping. I am thinking to get over with this long uncertain situation by taking medicine but afraid as it might cause severe cramps.

Could anyone else who has been in similar situation share their experience or give suggestions? Should I just wait or is it the same pain through medicine too? My doc said I can take meds whenever I feel like.

I wanted to pass it on my own but my midwife became concerned when I hadn't started bleeding for a week after I found out I mc. She suggested I take the meds as I didn't want a D&C. But my body finally started doing what it was supposed to last Monday. I began getting severe cramps that lasted for a few hours, luckily they went away for bed time. They started again on Tuesday morning and became more intense. I was having contractions and finally passed the sac, once out I felt instant relief! I just finished bleeding two days ago. I'm so relieved that I didn't need to take the meds as the contractions would have been Just as strong as what I experienced but may have lasted longer. You never know your body may do what it's supposed to like mine did. I chose to pass it naturally as after all women since the time of man have been doing it on their own! Good luck with whatever you choose.

I posted about my experience a few days ago. I was in the same boat you are now. The meds did make the cramping worse but actually helped move things along and quell the bleeding. I just took the prescribed pain killers and it was not that bad. Good luck and I'm sorry you are going through this.

Depends on the medication, and person taking it. It won't stop any cramping but it may shorten the time frame for your cramps. Methotrexate is one they prescribe, that I personally hate but many prefer it over letting things take their course. My friend said her miscarriage length was 4 days when she took it, all of mine unassisted were almost 2 weeks.

I had severe cramping this morning with heavy flow. After painkiller, I feel better now. I am glad it started naturally but Scared that tomorrow may be worse! 😞

Should we continue taking pre-Natals? I stopped the day I got to know its not a viable pregnancy. 😐
