Wisdom teeth?

I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled soon and I'm very scared! I've never been put under or had anything similar. I was hoping you ladies could tell me about your experience with recovering. How did you pass the time for the days you were stuck in bed? How do I eat? How bad is the pain exactly? What's your story?

Days in bed? I was fine the next day.

Going under is easy....you wake up, all doped up on meds. Feeling drowsy but good. Swollen face for days! Just remember to take the pain meds they give you BEFORE you start feeling pain after the numbness fades. It's easier to keep the pain level down that way. You'll be sore for a bit. It took me at least a week to get over it.

Mine were cut out and pulled. I bled alot... I tried to go to work after getting them pulled. Horrible idea. Lol I got shots of novacaine in my gums which was pretty bad. I didn't take any pain meds. Well, I took a Vic and threw everything up a couple hours later... never again. Lol

I had my wisdom tooth (I only had one) extracted earlier this year. Mine was impacted so it required being surgically removed.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. They gave me twilight anesthesia and local anesthetic so it didn't hurt. My stitches took a couple of weeks to dissolve and I got a little dry socket so I went in and the surgeon packed it with something that looked like a slimy strip of gauze and it had something that completely numbed the pain. I was prescribed Vicodin for the pain, I took that and ibuprofen.

It was sore for a few days and resting for a few days is a good idea but it's not like you can't go anywhere. I drank Ensure and  ate pudding, jello, yogurt, stuff that doesn't need chewing. The side of my face where my tooth was got really swollen, it looked like someone punched me lol. It was the most swollen on the 2nd day.

It's not the most fun thing to do but it wasn't bad and now I don't get toothaches.

I had all four surgically removed when I was sixteen. There is some discomfort for a couple days, but I was back to eating normal within a week. Lots of applesauce and I wanted milkshakes the whole time. :)
My husband had two pulled a couple months ago and he was fine the next day. He ate soft foods for a couple days. No need to worry!

I had mine cut out, all 4 of them. They gave me pain pills that helped with the pain, they'll also give you a syringe you can fill with water to keep food out of healing spots, USE this! I'd put cold water in it and squirt it on my stitches and it felt good, helped keep the area numb, I didn't eat anything solid for 2 weeks though, I drank soup (no straws!) but having them cut out is different than having them pulled, I'm sure the healing time is much less, my stitches took almost 3 weeks to dissolve but once the stitches had dissolved, I didn't have any pain anymore. But let me point out....my wisdom teeth were surgically removed because they were on their sides and never came through the gums.

I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled a the same time, 2 of which were impacted. Early morning appointment... 9am. They didn't put me under, just numbed my gums. Didn't feel like anything, I just felt pressure.. like someone pushing on my gums. It was quick. I have a really high pain tolerance so I honestly didn't really feel anything afterwards. I went to work that night and did a closing shift. 3pm-7am. I was a senior manager in big box retail at the time too so I was literally on my feet for hours. I snacked on stuff the whole day. Soft stuff like grapes and stuff. Couldn't really talk though so I counted the money that night so I didn't have to run the floor. I used Lipton tea bags ( like the regular tea bags you buy in the box at the store) to stop the bleeding. I wet them a little with water and put them on my gums. The next day I was ok. My face was swollen but I felt fine. Never filled my vico din prescription.
