How Do I Win Him Back?

We broke up bc I got mad during my period at a comment he made about my dog. I cancelled a trip we were supposed to make the next day and told him we were off. The next morning I apologized a million times and explained why I overreacted (hormones). He said I get too angry and easily offended and he doesn't want that. I sent him an edible arrangement the other day to say sorry and asking him "one last chance?" He texted me saying thanks for the fruit basket. I shared it with my coworkers. Nothing else was said. :( how do I win him back? I feel that he is being very harsh with me. He's 29. I'm 25. Also found out I have hypothyroidism (last week) which also makes you moody. I probably wouldn't take him back if he came back after this week. :(

Are the other responders not considering that this poster cancelled their trip and broke up with him over one comment about the dog? Can you really call him the person who can't weather the storm... the sulky one? If this is a regular occurrence as he makes it sound in his response, I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with the poster either.

Honey, the older a person gets, the less tolerance they have for unnecessary drama. I have hypothyroidism and that is no excuse to fly off the handle. Practice coping mechanisms for emotional highs and lows and talk to your doctor. You may need to up your synthroid dosage. Consider this a learning lesson on how to treat people when in a relationship and do better next time. Stop chasing this guy. That bridge is burned and will take time and distance to repair.

I can understand why he doesn't want to come back.. 
Some people can't deal with that sort of stuff, and you can't hold it against him if he can't.. I mean if I was in his position, I think after my missus canceled a trip we had planned.. And if there were other instances before this.. That would be it for me too..

If this was the first instance of you flipping out bad like that, I would think maybe he's making you grovel.. And in your position I wouldn't stand for it..

In saying all that, I'd stop messaging, and trying, just for the moment, and see what happens.. If you really love him though, you won't put a time limit on these things.

Move on. You were wrong. You messed up. You put yourself in that position. But you also apologized and admitted it was your fault. You went a step further and sent him a small gift. If he was really into you, he'd learn to forgive. No relationship can be successful without being able to forgive. Of course this excludes cheating, abuse, etc, but I feel that what happened with you is something forgivable. Move on. Find someone who will forgive you when you mess up. We all have bad days. He should understand why you snapped. He should at least give you one more chance

Let him sulk it out, don't contact him anymore and if he gets over himself then you can move on from ther but if not, do you really want someone so sulky and unforgiving for such minor arguments in your life anyway?! I understand what your going through. I've had thyroid issues for years. For those saying negative things that don't have them, you don't know what's it's like. Therefore, you probably shouldn't feel like you have a say so in regards to how she reacted. Your thyroid is a major hormone producing gland and when it's out of whack you are out of whack. It's terrible. A lot of people who have problems with it have depression issues and terrible PMS. Do some research instead of judging bc I promise your not perfect (hence the snarky, rude remarks) If he truly loves you he'll try. to understand what your going through. Have him read about thyroid problems so he can have a better understanding. A lot of people with thyroid problems will have a list of things for people in their lives to watch for and point out. You may go hypo and not even realize it but loved ones may notice a change in you and bring it to your attention. It is a life long thing! You and those around you will have to handle it the best way you can! Good luck!

I also wanted to add: an edible arrangement is what you get for a sick coworker/acquaintance, not an ex you are trying to win over. It seems very impersonal, like you didn't know this guy well. The fruit is always unripe and flavorless. You needed to do something meaningful and from the heart that would have been unique to him and his interests.
