Someone breached my debit card information

I checked my bank account this morning and a $2 foreign transaction fee plus $503 we're taken from my account. I haven't lost my card either. I panicked and called my bank. I cannot track the address of the transactions. I don't know if it's near me or across the globe.

I called my bank and the money will be back in my account. Does this mean someone took it out of a ATM in a foreign country? Or do all ATMs have a foriegn transaction fee?
