Resentment towards others?

Question

I saw a woman today about 28-30years old, heavily pregnant, wearing dirty clothing, dishevelled appearance asking her mum to buy her cigarettes and a lighter in a a bogan manner.

I found myself hating that woman. I wanted to yell at her and cry at the same time. Women like me have been through miscarriages and hell trying to conceive without success and then someone like her gets pregnant and has no respect for herself or her baby.

Hope this doesn't make me a bad person :( needed to vent.

Okay that does not make you a bad person. It is okay to feel hurt by infertility or by a loss.

However, judging others in this journey will make us more bitter. It is already hard enough. Once you start feeling she is pregnant, she is pregnant..... You lose track.

For your own sanity, I would ask you to stop worrying about others and focus fully well on your TTC journey. Wishing you good luck and baby dust

Doesn't make you a bad person at all hun, I remember when I had a miscarriage a woman came in to my work who was heavily pregnant and was talking to my co worker about how she'd had a lot to drink the night before so really needed some hangover food! I wanted to slap the stupid bitch! It seems like the people that deserve children find it so much harder to get pregnant and yet all these ferals accidentally get pregnant all the time..

It's so upsetting, I know. I used to think the same until someone said to me 'how does someone else's good fortune make your life harder' I hate seeing women drink/smoke whilst pregnant and smoke around babies but there's nothing you can say or do to talk sense into some people!

No you're not a bad person. I struggle with resentment all the time. One of my sister's is pregnant with her 4th  my youngest sister found out she was pregnant 3 days after her fiance and her called off their wedding, and I have like 6 friends who are pregnant and all they ever talk about is being pregnant or showing off their belly bump or whatever. I want to be happy for them but it is extremely hard to not be bitter and jealous sometimes. And yes, feeling that way makes me feel like a horrible person too. But we're just humans with human emotions that can't always be kept in check. As long as you're not being unkind or bitter actually to someone who's pregnant then Don't beat yourself up about your feelings. You're not alone.

Cheryl - you are not a bad person. I've  been on my TTC journey for 5 years now and I have these feelings often and I can tell these are normal emotions as a response to your circumstances. Please don't beat yourself up about it. For everyone person who berates and criticizes you for these feelings there is another one out there like myself who totally understands where you are coming from and what you are going through. I truly wish you all the best on your journey and hope for great things to come your way.
