Anyone ever had a colposcopy and biopsy?!

Please share your experiences. Before and afterwards and doctors recommendations.

It was the worst experience of my life I would've rather gave birth super uncomfortable. I hope I never have to get one again. Oh an  before  I just thought it was gonna be like a pap but came out and felt violated.

I didn't have any bleeding, and only a twinge of pain, not bad at all though. I've had worse Pap smears.

Colposcopy was terrible for me I had one when I was expecting my first child and another 6 weeks after my daughter was born I thought it was very uncomfortable during procedure and I was unconfortable for several days after with cramping

Not bad at all. The prep was the worst part. Be prepared to sh*t your brains out!

I had one and it was worse than giving birth! I wasnt given any pain meds and told to stand up and i was ready to leave when id said i was dizzy and so i blacked out. The bleeding stopped after about 4 days. It was really painful! I havent another one in 3mnths, this time theyre putting me to sleep YAY

I had abnormal cells in my cervix so they gave me a biopsy. It felt like bad period cramps. Afterwards, they tell you not to wear tampons but my period JUST started & I thought I'd be okay. It wouldn't let the biopsy site heal and took a long time. So just don't wear tampons & listen to your obgyn!

I work in women's health and have aided the doctor for them. Some women have a really hard time. They cramp immediately when the tenaculum is inserted, others do just fine and say it's only minor cramping. Take some Tylenol before the procedure, and just know it's over quickly. Honestly it doesn't last long at all. Good luck.

I thought it was very painful. I bled for a couple hours after. I hope I don't ever have to get another. I've had 2 already. It's the part where they take the biopsy that hurts the worst.

I have had it done twice, not a big deal. Its is mildly umcoftable with cramping and pain but i was fine two days later. Take some tylenol before you go...not advil or a blood thinner though
