Party and pill

I'm on the pill, and I always take it at the same time, yesterday I was at a party, and I did take my pill but I took it with alcohol, I searched it up and it said that its okay if I do that as long as I take it at the same time anyway, I was just wondering if it's okay or if now it's less effective
