Does the 7 year itch exist?

They say "watch out for the 7 year itch!" When you or your partner have been together or married for 7 years either of you start to get itchy for some strange on the side.
Did you experience this? Did you get past the 7 year mark with no itchiness? Did it happen sooner than 7 years? Later? Just curious what people think!

I personally believe we have itches throughout our lives for change. We can have an itch for a career change, an itch to move, an itch for having another baby. You just have to scratch that itch in an appropriate manner. If you have an itch to cheat or leave, you can scratch it by finding new ways to make your relationship exciting, or counseling/retreat to improve communication.

Have you watched the movie 7 year itch, with Marilyn Monroe? Pretty good movie, but as one person said I think we, as humans, crave change throughout our whole lives. That's why marriage is a big commitment, because your vowing to stay with one person till death.

My sister and her ex husband got to the seven year mark and ended it two months later. But she was cheating on him so.... I think it's just about how the couple are in the marriage. They had been unhappy for about two years I'd say. They made face in public but at home was a completely different story. If you get there, do try to work things out but don't force it if nothings left.

Been married for 6 1/2 years but do not have an itch what so ever.... On the other hand a relative of my SO just had their 7 year anniversary and divorced a few months later :(

We just celebrated our 7 year togetherversary and we are very happy with our lives together. We do get the itch but we are so connected we get it at the same time and it's a healthy itch like relocation, career change, starting a family. We are currently ttc and that has brought us closer as we approach 2.5 years of marriage.
