How to tell you son ?

Ok before my son was born me and my ex were expecting but I found out that he had someone else pregnant to I got mad and moved out had my son and now my son is now three and I moved on have a wonderful man in our life's my question now is should I ever tell my son about him when he's older and should I ever tell my ex about him

I think it's good to tell him now that his biological father and you didn't work out.  That way it's just something he accepts now as normal.  Don't get into any details about his father or why, etc... All h needs to know is that his biological father isn't part of his family but that's just fine and this new guy, if he so accepts it, is his "real" father.  I wouldn't tell the ex.  He could suddenly want to get involved in your son, and ultimately your life and it might interfere with the good things you have going.  If you're able to provide for your son without involving him, all the better.  I tend to think a man's right to be a father is always earned.  A woman's right to be a mother is innate (and can only be revoked if not fit).

Definitely tell him but he is your son, only you know when he is ready. Do it young enough to where he does not feel betrayed and lied to but old enough to understand.

Yes as your son could ask question later on in life...Start to tell your son  now but only small bits. You don't have to go into the fine details. Keep it simple   This is what you could say....  I was once with your daddy but he loved someone else,  they have a child together because they now love each other.  I was sad at the time. But mummy isn't sad now as she loves **** (the name of your partner) and we both have you and love you so much. And you And this is our family.
 Talk to your partner about how you want to approach this with your son.  My cousin has a different dad to his 3 brothers but they have always been honest from day one. My cousins thinks of tony as his dad because he raised him. But the was truthful and it paid off.

Honestly this happened to my boyfriend. His real father left the picture before he was even born and then his step father came into his life when he was about three years old. His parents didn't tell him until he was 10 years old, and he believes it was a good time for him to find out. He's super close with his step dad and considers him his real dad anyways so everything is all good there. I would definitely tell your son, but I would wait until he is older so he can understand!

Tell your son. My mom waited until I was 16 to tell me that the man I thought was my dad wasn't my dad. Granted they got married when I was an infant and divorced by the time I started school but I grew up thinking that my father left me and didn't look back when in reality my biological father has no idea about me. The man I thought was my dad had actually fought to see me but he had no claim to me, my mom did let me see him every now and then but I haven't seen him since I was about 7.
