How soon after you find out you are pregnant do you tell others?

I told right away. Miscarriages happen. And I would much rather have the support of my friends and family rather than keeping it to myself. Every life should be celebrated. :)

We would announce right away. It's been 5 years and our families and friends know how long we have struggled--I would want their support if something happened. I would want them to be excited for our baby, if only for a little while.

I think we would wait a few weeks to tell family and close friends, then wait til the three-month mark to tell the rest of the world

We told our parents and best friends about a week after we found out, then told our close relatives around 13weeks. However, we didn't announce "publicly" {social media and to more distant family} until 20weeks because that's when I felt comfortable telling people. Yes, every life matters and I would have wanted my parent's support if anything had happened. However, we all deal with things differently--when I'm upset, I become a very private person and like to deal with things on my own terms. I would not have wanted 1000 FaceBook friends trying to "comfort me" or asking question if something had gone wrong.

After watching our friends deal with multiple miscarriages, we decided we would wait until after the first trimester. We found out we were pregnant the September before last and kept it to ourselves. We miscarried in October, and my inlaws and my parents found out that we were pregnant by finding out that we were at the hospital because we had lost our baby. I'm not saying it was the right or wrong approach and I'm not saying that this is what we will do next time (haven't been pregnant since), just telling you what my wife and I did and how that played out.

I still think I will make the same choice (waiting) given another opportunity, we are just waiting, working, and praying towards another chance.

We were going to tell all immediate family and some close friends right away and then tell our church family right after. Is that a bad idea? We aren't 100% sure I am pregnant yet, but if I am before Father's day we were going to announce then. It'd be our first.
