Is my boyfriend cheating? Help!

Weve been together for almost 8 months now. The first week in our relationship I found out he was texting other girls and sending pictures back and forth. It didn't matter much because it was the first week of our relationship. About 2 months into our relationship I found more messages but just between one girl and no pictures, but still the conversation was sexual. Now, 8 months down the road, I was using his phone for music in the shower and some girl messaged him. I opened it to say that he would text her back soon because I thought it was his cousin, but no. Another girl with some messages. Saying how we've been on and off for a while. But we haven't. His family always says how much he loves me and his step mom said he was thinking about getting a ring and says how he wants to marry me. But how much do I believe? What do I believe?
Is he cheating on me? How do I approach him to tell him it's bothering me? Do I ignore it and move on? Do I leave him? What do I do!?

You are only 8 months in... GET THE HELL OUT NOW! 
He will never be there for you emotionally and if you keep letting him do this, he will start screwing around on you. He will keep testing how much he can get away with. 
My ex expected me to stay after I found out about the affair he was having, because he had gotten away with so much crap already!

Please, please, please have some self respect. This was and is a reoccurring ongoing issue. A man in a relationship SHOULD NOT be doing this. If he wants to play around he can do it SINGLE, you deserve better.

Just because it isn't physically sexual cheating, it's still emotionally cheating. At this point in the relationship you need to address this issue because it not only hurts you, it's determines your future; with or without him. You HAVE to do what is best for you mentally, physically and emotionally, otherwise if you let this pass, he may (not saying he will) physically cheat on you. Hey! This seems like a page out of my book! Called: same shit with my EX husband. Trust your gut. Leave him before he does any if not more emotional damage. Theres plenty of men who would fight for a place for you, and be deserving of your love. Remeber that.
