Can't believe so many of you will only be off for six weeks with ur baby 😢 in the UK the average is 6 months but a lot take up to a year. Makes me realise how lucky I am having 11-12 months off work. I'm all for working mums!! Everyone has to do what is best for them & their family

My fmla will only allow 6 weeks for a natural birth and 8 weeks for a csection. My plan is to go natural like I have with my others and unfortunately I have to work up until I have my baby. For financial reasons I probably won't be able to take the full 6 weeks. I really wish the U.S. Was like other countries where you could be off for months!

I can take my baby to work, so whenever I feel like I'm ready I'll head back. With my daughter, she was only 3 weeks when I took her with me (I was so ready...these four walls close in fast). I took her everyday for 7 months, then she started at MDO two days a week. Now she's in preschool, etc, so she's rarely at my office. I'm very fortunate.

9 weeks total. I'm a teacher and I'm going back after fall break and not starting the school year (we are year round and start the last week of July)

6 weeks off the time I've already accrued (I'm a state employee so I have to use all that before I could apply for Disability). Then 6 weeks "baby bonding" time. I'm actually trying to take another three weeks totally unpaid after that, but I don't know yet if I'm going to be allowed.

FMLA limit of 12 weeks unpaid leave is required for my company (smaller companies can offer less). I'm taking all of that time and using vacation and short term disability pay (1/2 pay) to get us through until I go back.

My husband gets one paid week paternity leave, which he'll take.

I'm allowed 12 weeks but just don't feel like that's enough so I'll probably be quitting, taking at least 6 months off and then getting rehired. They're desperate enough that I can probably do that.
