Any care givers or CNAS out there?

Question

Is there anyone in this line of work that really hates their job? If so, why? Or if you really love it, why? I was offered a similar position and I'm not sure if it's really for me or not..

I am a hospice caregiver for my great grandmother. I love it & feel like I have been tasked with helping her go peacefully. She has last stage Alzheimer's and Dementia. She is also 93 years old. After 30+ caregivers that robbed her blind & the last caregiver physically abused her, I quit my job to train & take care of her through that company. I also take care of a young man with traumatic brain injury that left him wheelchair bound. I loved taking care of him too, but his family took issue with my race and treated me poorly. The pay sucks but idc, I get to help my Mamaw everyday and I've learned a lot about life during the Great Depression, the advancement of technology, farming etc. I know my opinion is biased because its a family member but I love it!

I am a CNA and I absolutely love what I do! Some people see my job as a "professional butt wiper." Yes, I am...and so much more! It is very hard work, but you get what you put into it. Words can not even begin to explain how humbling it is to be a caregiver! If you are a compassionate, hardworker, preferrably a people person, then I say go for it! :)

I'm a CNA 2. In NC, it licenses me to do more than basic CNA skills. I love my job. I work in an OBGYN clinic for a Naval Hospital. Pay is great,  hours are great, and with my husband being in the military, it puts us on the same work schedule. My job in the clinic is more like a MA. I schedule appts, triage patients, review medical history's, and assist with procedures. I have worked in nursing homes, med/surg, and home health.  None of which were too bad. The only dislike is when we have women come in who miscarry. I've been on my job 3 years and that is something that still makes me tear up. Also, i love seeing little peanuts on ultrasounds and hearing heartbeats but it kind of gets to me at times because my husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years with no luck. But overall, I can't complain about my job. In my town, I'm a "lucky" CNA lol.

I'm an LPN and enjoy being a nurse. I do have days where I am extremely frustrated but overall I get great joy of being hands on with my babies in all ways needed

I was a CNA love every min of it, the pay could be better. My favorite part of the job was the elderly and there stories lol. Now I'm a Medical Administrative assistant at a dentist office who is so funny. And I used to drive the handicap/senior buses. Helping people has always been my calling you have your good days and bad days.

I worked at a elderly caregivers hospice.. I loved it, I bonded with so many people, herd amazing stories, but it is hard.. You get close to them and they pass.. On the other hand I felt that I gave them comfort in there last years(months) of life, carrying on their stories.. 😊 but with any job there are ups and downs, if I could work there again I would do it in a heartbeat ❤️

I'm a RN I love taking care of others and I've always done that! I served my country as a Marine and then I have been a waitress from the age of 16 till I got my BSN in 2013! There days where I get saddened or frustrated but mostly because of others lack of concern for our patients or the patients lack of caring for themselves or their children! But that's what we are for! I love my CNA's they are our eyes and ears when we are busy and with out them we are nothing!

I loved it and hated it at the same time. I grew close to some of my clients. I hated the pay, the way they ran things and constantly driving to their homes (especially when the client wasn't home and didn't call the office, so I wasted my entire paycheck in gas just to get there and back to get paid less than $4 for "show up" time)... I still miss some of the people I took care of, but I don't miss some of the others. I don't miss the BS. Honestly, I work at mcdonalds now and make way more money. Isn't that sad? 😂

I was before I moved.
I loved being a CNA because you are taking care/helping someone in need. I cared for all my clients, yes you shouldn't get attached but I did. I loved my Clint and their family's. Hearing the family thank you fur helping is a great feeling in the world.
I can't really think of a reason why I didn't like it, yea it's hard sometimes but it's a great thing to do.

I recently renewed my certificate and worked as a CNA for 3 years but right now its about the last thing i wanna do. I got sooo burnt out but maybe its because half the time, i worked at a memory care and i think that wares you out faster. I looooved my residents (one or two gave me a hard time but most were great)  i still visit them when i go back home. The work itself can be hard but for the right people, it's all worth it. I strongly believe that the job is aggressively underpaid. I worked at grocery store afterwards and i got paid $2 more! It pisses me of that the work at grocery store doesn't even come close to comparing and yet it pays more. If i ever did CNA work again, it would be home care
