Books on babies for kids, what would you have done?

So this is one of the three books I bought to read my almost five year old. 
Then I got to this page and the part where it said "mommies have one piece" then saw the rest, stopped and moved in to the next page..

I felt like it was just a tid bit too much information for her age...reading about the birth canal was bad enough haha! I'm terrified of her being the one when kindergarten starts teaching all the other kids how babies  are made lol

Would you have skipped it too?

I would have. I am a fan of letting little kids ask the question like "where do babies come from?" And then asking them how they think it happens and then depending on their answer elaborate or tell them they are correct (if they have some sorta of correct answer) and see if they ask more questions or are satified with that. That way they aren't really learning anything they haven't already been thinking about and you can find out what level of thought they are at already woth out bring it up.

At least on the page in the pic, it doesn't go into detail about how the sperm gets there. My mom had a book that was either "so that's where babies come from" or " so that's how babies are made" and it said something to the effect of "daddy takes his private part and puts it in the special place between mommy'a legs"...and so on....for the longest time I didn't realize there was penetration involved, I thought it just slid between the lips and sat there like a hotdog in a bun....

My answer to all the "too mature" questions my kids have is... we will talk about it when you're older. It always satisfies them and that's the end of it. When I think they're old enough, I'll start the conversation. I def think I would have skipped it, but mostly bc it's not a part of their body they need to know about right now... vagina and penis and nose and elbows....  honestly my kids would have gotten bored with that book. Lol

I wouldn't have skipped it. I see no need to tiptoe around human reproduction. The more knowledge, the safer your child will later in life. And I don't think there's any shame in sex or having babies so I don't feel the need to hide it

Idk. I probably would have read it... if you want to teach them what is going on then why not be honest? I don't see a problem in skipping it though if you are uncomfortable.
