Last Wk Negative. This Wk Positive. 6Wks?

So I went to the dr. yesterday and found out I am six weeks and due Jan. 20th. My concern is I am not as far along as they think. My missed period was May 18th. I tested on the 20th in the morning and got negative result. I waited almost a week and tested again and got positive. Is it normal to be 6 weeks and to have had a negative test last week?

You could have taken a full test and ovulated early. They also add 2 weeks to date it back to your last period, so technically you're 4 weeks. Did they do a sonogram and base your due date off that?

With my first pregnancy my hubby and i were trying and i had missed my period and didnt have a period for 3 months i was testing like crazy probably at least 50 tests all different brands and all were negative then i finally got my positive went to the doctor a week after getting my positive and had a ultrasound to date it since i hadnt had a period in what seemed like forever, i was 12 weeks and 4 days. So i was 11 weeks before i got a positive hpt. Shes now a healthy 3 year old.

Im now pregnant with my second and tested positive and was 7w5d at my dating ultrasound

I'm sure you just ovulated later. They will adjust your date whenever you have an ultrasound.
