Boy hand me downs for girl?

I am 12+4 weeks and just found out we are having a girl...our first is a boy so everything we own is blue/boy theme...besides clothes, did you reuse your boy stuff (blankets, and receiving blankets, etc.) for your girl or visa versa. Or did you buy new

Yup! Though my first was a girl and second a boy. He's 3 now and likes wearing his sisters pink shirts or leggings and as long as they fit we don't care...he's even worn them to daycare ;) jammies and blankies are other items we've used interchangeably. My oldest will be 5 soon and she and her brother wear each other's tshirts all the time!

#3 is a girl we just found out and she'll wear both her sisters and brothers handmedowns. :)

My twin girls both have blue bumbos 😂. They were given to us by different people. First kids for us, but we never say no to hand-me-downs! Especially since we are having twins lol.

Why not? I used and still use HMDs from my sisters' kids. One girl and 2 boys, I have a girl. If it's a blue shirt, match it with something girly or out something in her hair. When they're newborn no stranger every gets it right anyways. And who cares anyways as long as your mom doesn't say he instead of she? I've always bought gender neutral, it's practical and easy to make more feminine or masculine. 
But no, there's nothing wrong with using boy clothes on a girl.

I reused some. Only what I conceived robe neutral but not much. I grew up very poor so I have this weird thing where I wanted each child to have their own personal things. But I also buy minimally and don't get many gadgets, I spend on what is most important to me and less on convenience. Plus it saves space!

Yes, my first was a boy and I kept most of his blankets and when I got pregnant with my daughter (3 years later) I used those same blankets. Now I'm pregnant with #3 (it's been 5 years) and I'll still be using some of those blankets from baby #1.

My SIL used to boy clothes on my niece and just add pink socks or a headband, it was cute

We will be using our sons old things regardless of this baby's gender. It's such a waste of money otherwise.

I would reuse most of it. You can save money by keeping the boyish themed things. Maybe use some of your budget to get the fun girly stuff you will take when you leave the house. She won't know the difference but I do see where you would want some things to be just her own.
