Pro Voice Ted talk
Hi Glow,
My name is alyssa. I'm a 19 year old college student in a small town.
When I was 16 I was forced to have an abortion. My mother was my only family member. She suffered depression and said either I abort, or she would kill herself. I was scared and young.
I made a decision that would haunt me for years.
I went through my own depression and flash backs.
I wanted to do anything to make the pain stop.
I had no one to talk to, because the majority of people don't want to hear about what happens after, they're way too concerned about being pro choice or pro life.
I heard there was a Ted talk today about being pro voice. Which means actually hearing women's abortion experiences and setting aside the political views.
I think it might be important for women in general to at least listen to the talk.
Gandhi said be the change you wish to see in the world.
I wish when I was a young girl struggling with a traumatic experience that I could've had one person to talk to who did not make it political.
I hope many watch this talk and become inspired to think more openly.
Thank you for reading my post.
