I've never done it in the past, I want to try it. My boyfriend seems up for the idea. Any advice how to make it less "messy" from those who have?

We don't do it anymore because we can wait five days to have sex haha but we used to do it. We just throw down a dark colored towel. I've never really had anything come out, you just both need to clean off when done.

Put a towel down and plan on a shower after if you have a heavy flow. My husband and I don't do it on my heaviest days (normally day 1&2). I love sex on my period because it feels so good and helps relieve cramps!

For me it makes me orgasm faster. Definitely towels down and move any favorite blankets away! Shower works too.
