Twins???

Question

Has anyone here either had or known someone who had twins without using and fertility drugs or having it run in the family? My friend is 10 weeks and hasn't had an ultrasound yet and she is getting big and thinks she could be having twins but it does not run in her family and she conceived all natural!!! So I thought if ask!

I got pregnant with precum (less than a minute of tired sx lol) and twins do not run in my family...not in a million years would i think i would get pregnant with twins...much less the way it happened...boy girl twins :)

My step sister has twins. Naturally and it dose not run in her side of the family. One of my coworkers has triples naturally. The doc told her the older you get the more eggs you drop. She's in her early 30's.

Why do people think that men determine twins?

There are 2 types of twins. 2!!!! Google is your best friend. 
To form identical or monozygotic twins, one fertilised egg (ovum) splits and develops into two babies with exactly the same genetic information. To form fraternal or dizygotic twins, two eggs (ova) are fertilised by two sperm and produce two genetically unique children.

Egg = female contribution
Sperm = male contribution

..... Mother does produce twins too. One set of twins comes from the female releasing multiple eggs. That had nothing to do with a guy. So if your friend released more than one egg and they got fertilized then yes she can have twins.

My sisters dad has a twin sister... As far as we know they are the only set of twins in the family and no fertility drugs.

My sisters are fraternal twins and there the only twins on both sides of the family. My mom and dad use no fertility drugs or anything actually my dad had cancer when my Lil sisters were conceive. We call them miracle babies.
