Blood on the string?

So I just started using tampons (and I LOVE them) but every time I use one, there's blood on the string and every once and a while it gets in my underwear. Any ideas of ways to stop it or do I need to use a bigger size?

Probably need to change it more often. It will start leaking down the string if it's left in to long and needs to be changed, or maybe try a bigger size when your flow is heavier

For underwear protection, use a panty liner. :)

Change it more often or use a higher absorbency. If it leaks out, that means the tampon is full and it's leaking. There's almost always going to be blood somewhere on the string from the applicator/etc.
