Gender Reveal, yes or no?

Hey Ladies I need opinions.

Is having a gender reveal party weird if my SO and I already know the gender?

Because of the blood test informaseq, We're going to know the gender very early.  (Results will be back in 7-10 days, at about 11 weeks.)

I'm thinking about having a reveal just for family and close friends to find out what we're having.

We are taking our daughter with us to the gender reveal scan in 3 weeks. Then we will have a BBQ that evening to reveal to my husbands family. 2 weeks later we are traveling to my hometown and have a gender reveal party with my family.

I think it's way more fun to wait and find out with family/friends.  That way everyone is surprised!  I went to one and the couple already knew...it felt kinda pointless - like, you guys already know, just tell us.  The balloons aren't worth the effort if you already know!  It was still fun but I think it would have been way more exciting if it was a surprise to them, too.  But to each his own - totally up to you.

I really want to do one, but I'm not sure if everyone's schedules would line up. I'm not even sure there's a weekend where mine and my husband's schedules work together to host a party, besides the fact that our financial situation is not so great right now... Already had the blood test and should know within the week, but didn't tell anyone that we got gender blood test- they think that we won't know gender til our anatomy ultrasound in July. 😀 This is our fourth child, hopefully last, and we've never had a gender party before, so in my heart I really want to do the party, but I'm just not sure we can arrange it. 😕

Not at all! I told my husband I want to know first anyways! Plus I'll have my shower that I don't imagine my husband will be at. And he is going to have a beer/diaper man shower that I won't be at...so it will give us an event we can both enjoy together :)

I won't have my anatomy scan until August, so I'm actually going to another place at 15 weeks and finding out the genders. I won't know, no one will until we cut into the cakes. I wanted it to be a surprise for everyone, even though my husband wants to know. If I wasn't having twins I wouldn't be doing a party, but since there are two I think it will be so fun to all find out together with the family! I'll be doing mine in early July

I'm having one. :) im having the blood work and ultrasound done on Friday. IF we find out, then the party will be sooner, if not we will wait until I have the anatomy scan in July.

Me and hubby will know the gender before our reveal! I just plan on not doing anything to make people think one way or the other. I just hope I don't slip up. Haha I'll probably wear something white or yellow, gender neutral so I don't give it away. I'm far too impatient and we will be finding out a whole month before our reveal so no, I absolutely had to know before everyone else!

I considered this but my boyfriend wasn't for crying if front of everyone if it says girl lol & I found it almost pointless to have a party when we already know the gender. 
So we r going to have our gender reveal appt on the Friday before Father's Day to see the baby, have the tech envelope the gender, and open it probably an hour later with our son and record his reaction. Then tell our close relatives on Sunday at the BBQ.

We are going to wait to find out, I might give in though. But we are waiting until our baby shower in October to reveal with a cake c: I feel like it's more fun for the guests to see the surprise in the lucky new mom and dad.

I had this conversation the other day with a few friends who went to a gender reveal party where the parents already knew. They said it wasn't as much fun because most people go to the party to share in the excitement with the parents and to see their reaction. Maybe don't tell them you know and practice your reaction :)
