I am curious if you know of any body language tips on how to read peoples body language.

There's an idea of body language, but people can control it and everyone has their own quirks. It helps to know the person.

Open posture: arms by sides, not closed off from others around them. Signals more open to conversation.

Closed posture: arms folded against chest, a way to restrict yourself as much as possible from others conversations. Maybe happier to listen in rather than participant.

Postural echo: a technique use by person 2 to ensure person 1 is more likely to converse openly and comfortably in coversation. This technique works by person 2 consciously mimicking person 1's posture and gestures. Therefore making person 1 almost subconsciously more likely to trust person 2 and having greater desire to uphold a conversation.

These are the main ones on post posture, but eye contact is also very important

If a person is sitting or standing with their arms crossed they are protecting themselves from either direct contact (even just talking) or accusation. Depends on situation. If you ask someone a question and they look down or away from you before answering, it's probably false. If they answer you with another question, they're probably lying or withholding info. I remember those from a tv show that was amazing called "Lie to Me". You can see it on Netflix.
