Advice on my Doctor's office

Asia • My husband and I have been ttc for 7 months, and just suffered through a heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy. My heart and body are hurting so much, I just want things to go back to normal.
I got two positives on home pregnancy tests so I called a local Doctor's office to set up prenatal care. They made my first appointment for a month out. A week later I started bleeding so I called them. It was in the evening so they just told me to come in the morning for a blood test, which I did. A couple hours later the on call doctor called me back and I notified her that I had passed some large clots. She said my hormone levels were low, and that it sounded like I had a miscarriage. She said they would do another blood test to confirm in 48 hrs. So I go do the second blood test and the hormones have gone up just a couple numbers rather than dropping like they should with miscarriage. Now they tell me that they think it's an ectopic pregnancy and to do another blood test in 48 hours. I have still not seen a Doctor or nurse or had any kind of exam, and they have given me very little information. This just seems really strange to me. I would think that if someone was having complications in their pregnancy, they would be seen right away. has anyone else experienced this? Is this typical for a Doctor's office, or should I be looking for someone else to see?
