Pregnancy test question?

I am supposed to start a medication this week and cannot be pregnant while taking it. My period is due in a week, and I went to the doctor for a blood test, which came back as negative. Is there a chance that it was a false negative because blood was drawn a week before my period? Also, how many days after conception can a blood test pick up a pregnancy?

Ur hcg levels wouldve been very low but they would be able to tell immediately.  My last pregnancy i found out when i was only a couple days along from a blood test.

It takes 7-10 days on average for an embryo to implant and then your body starts making the HCG that pregnancy tests are looking for, but I don't know how soon it shows up after implantation. You need to call the doctor.

That would have been something to talk to the doctor  about. Not very many of us know the answer and some do but we are not doctors hun if this is a major concern then u need to go back and talk to them about it always be open with your doctor's about everything.
