Bad cervix?

What does it mean when a doctor says that you have a bad cervix? I'm 41weeks and got checked at 40 weeks 5 days I was 1cm dilated and 70% efficiated. I was getting contractions in my back all morning but they weren't consistent. I lost some of my mucus plug yesterday. And if my baby hasn't come by Sunday then I will be induced Sunday. I just wanted to know what a bad cervix means. Does this mean that I'm at a higher risk for a csection?

My sister was told the same thing...she was 3cm dilated and 100% effaced for 3 weeks...I think what the doctor is referring to is that you haven't gotten any farther along than you are since you were having some contractions...it's nothing to be concerned about...when you and the baby are ready it will happen...I don't understand why doctors make comments like that, it just worries the Mommy's even more....

I have heard incompetent cervix but that usually means needing a cerclage early in pregnancy or sometimes very very early labor. But I haven't heard "bad cervix" and seeing that you are full term I don't think you have an incompetent cervix. You have started dilating and effacing on your own which is a sign of a cervix that will cooperate.. Honestly don't know what your doctor could mean. I would ask him more questions.
