Is love enough?

So my husband and I have been together for 8 years married for 4. We split up and got back together. No children and I love him deeply. However, financially he's just not there. What I mean is, I make most of the money and go to school. He has a part time job but it's simply not enough. Don't get me wrong, the money he contributes pays for a lil food or small things here and there, but for as long as I can remember we haven't be able to afford to date or exchange gifts bcuz it's simply not enough money coming in! I love him so much, but is love enough when you feel like you want more out of life?

I think it depends on what you want. I make most of the money in our house but he contributes what he has. He also does 90 percent of the cooking and probably 70 percent of the cleaning. There are others ways to contribute to a relationship. Talk to him and ask him to get another job to help more with expenses and why you are concerned. Is he doing what he can? Is there an economy in your area that he could find a better job? In mine there are not many jobs available that pay well and when there are many people apply. Many men in my area have to go to the  other side of the country to work and are away from their families for weeks and months at a time. I think you need to be on the same page of what is important and what your life goals are and how the two of you plan to get there.

Sometimes I wonder the same thing, in my relationship i make 95.5 of our whole income. I have a job & go to school as well & My SO does not..

Love is not enough. There are so many things that make a relationship work or fail and love is just one.....it's a big one, but it's not the only factor.

If love was enough you wouldn't be having these thoughts, it may be a good idea to gently nudge him to find better work.

Talk to him about his goals for life. I have the same issue. My husband is very irresponsible with money. I'm a saver and he's a spender. Just be honest & let him know its time to grow with you.

My last relationship was like that. I had to pay for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. It drove me crazy cuz I was raised the man is suppose to provide.

My DF is a wealthy man and pays for everything. Yes it's nice and definitely different but sometimes I wish he would let me take care of something's so it's not just on him.

My DH is the only one working right now. He says I dow need to work etc but I want to so we can have a little extra money on his short hours weeks. Besides I want to help fix one of our trucks.
