Miscarriage? Have to wait another week for another sonogram

Question

I went for a sonogram today and they just saw the gestational sac.
The doctor wants me to come back next week for another sonogram to see if the pregnancy is viable.
I'm so upset and confused....I should be 8 weeks by my LMP.
Anyone else have/had this problem and then see a baby?

Yes this happened to me but their dating was off because my periods are irregular. They caught me at 5 wks with only the sac and no baby. A week later there was a baby and 2 weeks later they were able to date more appropriately from there. Be positive and relax. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me- I went to the ER with some light spotting and cramps and I was freaking out. The U/S tech there said they saw a sac but no baby. By my LMP I should have been almost 9wk. Lots of follow up bloodwork and an U/S at my OB... And there is a baby! Strong heartbeat (140bpm) and turns out I'm only 7wk3d today. I must have ovulated later than I thought. It can turn out to be good! Keep your head up, keep praying and keep your appt!

You could call and request a beta hcg today and another one in 2-3 days. If it goes up then it's a good sign.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday. My LMP was April 4th, but only the sac was found. I have to wait until 6\23 for a second scan. If I'm going to miscarry, I hope it happens before then. I'm not sure I can stand three weeks of uncertainty.

Me!!!!! I am having the same exact thing but my calculations I'm supposed to be 6 weeks and 4 days but apparently I'm not even that because all they see is the sack they can't even see the yolk or an embryo and I have to go back on the 11th. I'm not cramping I'm not bleeding I'm not having any symptoms whatsoever they took a test and it came out positive so I have no idea

I had this same thing happen to me in between my daughters. I went in for my 8 week appointment and all that was there was a sac, no baby. I knew exactly when my last period was and my cycles were very regular- 28-29 days. I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. I opted to not wait it out because I just knew. I had told my husband a week prior that I didn't feel pregnant anymore. It was the weirdest thing.
