Shooting while pregnant?

I haven't found a definite yes or no on the subject but I am 15 weeks pregnant and want to get my CHL. Is it safe for me to take that class while pregnant? In order to pass you have to shoot at least 50 rounds.

I would think it was fine? I'm from Louisiana and a lot of pregnant women here continue to hunt. I plan to hunt when I become pregnant. Ask your doctor to be sure.

I remember reading something about the sound, and I would think that could affect a pregnancy later on, as opposed to early, before the ears/hearing are formed. Babies react to light and sound in utero and can get startled, I've seen ultrasounds of babies "crying." So it's likely safer earlier? But your doctor should know for sure.

Lead and noise was the reason why I didn't. I found some info that it could cause some damage to their hearing in utero

You shouldn't be around too much lead while pregnant which is why the suggest you not shoot while pregnant.

I was in the military and my pregnant co workers were not allowed to shoot on the range for various reasons. Including the chemicals used to clean the rifles. But it was also because of the positions we shot in .

Honestly ask your ob, I'd think you'd be ok, your baby is pretty protected, ask a dr though, a nurse for your dr. It's just a phone call. I was shooting and pregnant, second trimester at the time, it was pistol though.
