Dpo question?

I'm a little confused on trying to determine how many dpo I am. I got a positive opk on 5/26/15. I was told that meant I actually ovulated the following day on 5/27/15 and that my first dpo would be 5/28/15. Is this correct?

Sperm can also live up to 5-6 days. They need to be waiting for your egg for the egg only survives for 12-24 hrs after it hits the uterus.

If that's the way it happens then yes. Just using opks tho we can't be totally sure when you ovualted. Taking bbt would help. It usually drops the day of ovulation and spikes the next day or over a couple days to get usually a degree higher than your normal temp. Opks find the surge and give a 12-36 hour notice. After rhe egg drops it's usually there for only 12-24 hours.
