Baby Shower etiquette??

Question

My good friend has offered to throw me a baby shower, and my employer has just offered to help as well. 
My friend lives an hour away. My boss lives 15 mins away. 
My question is about etiquette. Where should the shower be thrown, location-wise? Closer to my home for my convenience? Or closer to the host for her convenience?

A majority of the guests live near my friend, about an hour away. Likely a guest list of 25-30.

My boss (and my husband) say it should be near me, which makes sense.... but I feel bad asking everyone to drive up to me. Seems like it would be easier for everyone (and they'd be better able to join the celebration) if I drove down to them.

This is our first baby.

Well the baby shower is being thrown for you, I would say closer to you. Or halfway point maybe

I live about 3 and a half hours from my hometown, which is where all of my friends and family live. I'll be having my shower there, versus them all driving to me :) It just makes more sense for my situation. That way grandparents can come and no one feels excluded. I don't think an hour is that big of a deal, of course I have to drive 30 minutes just to go to the grocery store so... Lol! Do what is best for you!

My shower is going to be thrown at my house because I have the biggest living room and plus then the gifts are already at my house and I don't have to worry about transporting them home. I think you gotta do what is best for you.

Do what you feel best with, without worrying too much about everyone else. Don't go too far if your uncomfortable with the distance. And it's not a frequent occasion so I don't think you should feel bad if you keep it close to you and some ppl have to travel for this one event :) good luck

.def consider how many weeks you will be and how you might feel. first i was all excited. But thats when i was a lot smaller and had energy....Then when the time got closer i was so tired and didnt feel like doing a thing i actually didnt even feel like going lol. Its my first baby too, also maybe you could find somewhere in the middle to do it at? That way no one has to drive so far, and maybe you could ride with your boss? As time goes by it gets a little harder to do things.
