TTC question?

I have been TTC for a few months now with no luck. I'm not sure how to tell if and when I'm ovulating and I have an irregular period so that doesn't help. Anyone have any ways you can tell how you are ovulating? Maybe if I could tell I would have a better chance of having a baby of my own.
