Am i wrong?

Question

OK I am a recovering alcoholic I've been sober for 5 months but my bf never drinks but wants to drink this weekend. I told him that I'm.not ready to be around alcohol and it would bother me. He got mad and started saying he feels trapped. I told him I would go to my sisters house while him and his friend drink and hangout. Am I wrong that I don't wanna be around alcohol? He tells me I'm not normal and to stop complaining.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! And good for you for saying that! It's hard recoving from something like that! I would consider kickin his @$$ to the curb for not supporting you and being proud that you are wanting to change your life for the better.. I'm 2 years sober and it's harder to stay that way with alcohol around.. I relapsed once and all because there was alcohol within drinking distance.. So give yourself a pat on your back and be proud! 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

Um no there is NOTHING wrong with you for not wanting to be around it right now. You are VERY early in recovery and it takes time to overcome the urge to drink, my mom couldn't be around alcohol for over a year when she first got sober. Your boyfriend sounds like a dick, you need to consider that your sobriety is priority #1 and if he is a threat to that he isn't worth being around. If you want to talk, my mom had been in program for 9 years and I don't drink and have been around the program for a long time, I'd be more than happy to talk.
