Vanishing twin... Any hope they are wrong?

Question

We found out today at 8.4, that baby "b" is not viable, and they said it's a vanishing twin.

I realize I'm totally grasping at straws... But any chance at 12 weeks we might see baby? 
I realize there is obviously no well to know for me, just wondering if it's happened to anyone.
I feel such a loss, but am just praying for a miracle.
At 6 weeks we saw two sacks the same size, but could only see one yolk sack, then today looks like it's vanishing. :/

As sad and upsetting as it is you most likely will not see the twin at 12 weeks. I am so sorry for you, I know how it feels to know you are losing a twin..just try to stay positive and be happy you have one left. Best of luck to you.

They say a lot of pregnancies start off as twins, but then one vanish, so they usually don't do ultrasounds until about 12wks, to save the family disappointment... I wish you the best.

I totally feel Your pain. Just found out Friday at 8wks that one of my twins wasn't viable (after seeing 2 heartbeats at 6wks) and my first instinct was denial. It's the first stage in the grieving process. I tried to say that it was a new younger dr who did the ultrasound and maybe he is wrong. But I'm beginning to accept it and I'm devastated to lose another baby but also happy and nervous about the surviving baby. Best wishes to you!

Saw heart beats on my two at six weeks. At seven weeks one has a heart beat and the other stopped growing and no heart beat. They said its common when you have multiples one will vanish.
