When do you tell family? Thoughts, pls.

Question

This app says I'm 7w2d. I have my first appt on June 15th (little over a week from now).

My boyfriend thinks we should tell my family the exciting news. I worry it might still be too soon?

What are you guys' thoughts? When did everyone tell their family?

I'd say it depends on if you see them a lot lol. I know that's terrible. All of our family lives states away and I felt guilted into telling everyone. We were excited and wanted to share, but honestly they weren't respectful of me wanting to keep it to ourselves and our family. After I specifically asked them not to post to Facebook, multiple things were posted. I was a wreck. It caused a lot of issues. The people that should understand the most were not understanding at all. Everyone wants to make it about them. But that's my family. Probably depends on your family. After we shared the news I regretted it.

My bf wanted to tell his family right away but I asked him to wait until my 2nd Appmt, which was at 17 weeks. I wanted to be sure it was healthy first.

I'm 20 weeks today and have the sex reveal ultrasound today, I've been waiting to find out the sex to tell my family, They have huge news coming their way today :))

It's your choice, depends how comfortable you are sharing..lol

I found out at 3 weeks 6 days and I waited until I was almost 9 weeks to tell everyone. I did tell my best friend and my parents the same day though.

I shared a weekish after we found out. It was torture not telling them sooner! I was 6 weeks when we told them and we found out at 4wk 5 days. I shared with immediate family and best friend first.

I shared with friends and close family right way! Before this pregnancy, I had a MC the month before. Then we were blessed with a rainbow baby! Even if the worse happens, having the support of your closest loved ones is a Godsend. And chances are you will have a happy, healthy pregnancy! Share when it feels right for you and SO 😊

We told our families early on. I was probably about 5w, hadn't even had an U/S. I waited to tell all of our friends and do the big social media announcement until after our U/S at about 13w. I don't think there's a right or wrong time to do it. It won't stay a secret long anyway ;-) Good luck!

Our families live really close by so we made the announcement at 12 weeks  (Christmas '14).

My mom knew immediately at 5 weeks, but the rest of my family found out after our first good ultrasound where we saw the heartbeat at almost 8 weeks. We're slowly starting to tell people now since I'm almost 12 weeks. Probably won't make any social media announcements until after we know the gender at 15wks. Share when you feel comfortable! :)
