Help with this ovulating question...

Last Saturday I took a ovulation test it was about noon in both lines came up dark usually one comes of dark and the other one light but this one came up really dark which indicated to me that I was ovulating my question is we couldn't do anything right then and there because we were packing to leave but however later on around eight ish we did do something. now I have a question would that have still been ok what I've been ovulating still or should I have tried harder on trying to do something before we left? So basically when I take the test and it comes back to dark lines should you do something then or can you wait until later?
