Giving out my number

The "father" of my child doesn't call or Skype or FaceTime or anything with my child. I recently changed my number not only for a new start (moved to a new state) but also to break ties with him. He's never seen my daughter and like I said doesn't call (he called twice this year) or return my child's call when they call him. I guess the caring heart in me feels bad for cutting him off from the option of being able to call but strangely I feel like I am doing the right thing. Am I?? Please help!!
