I'm pregnant but haven't told my mom yet because I'm only 17, but is it okay to take the over-the-counter ones? Until I go to the doctor??

Folic acid is required for the development of the neural tubes that develope the spinal cord. Without enough folic acid you can end up with a baby that has spinal defects

I take Rainbow Light prenatals. They are OTC. I think around $10-$12 a bottle at Target.

Don't take Folic Acid. It's synthetic and 50% of the population has a MTHFR mutation that causes methylation problems. Folic acid can actually harm you. Every woman should take a prenatal with FOLATE. I take Natures Dynamic prenatal with folate and Thorne also has methylated folate.

I take OTC prenatals. Just make sure they have plenty of folic acid and DHA if possible
