Race Relations all Texans are not illiterate

I'm a black woman living in Houston. This past week a guest (also AA) from my hometown has been here. In from a small country town here in Texas.

Today she asked me why I "acted like I was white?" and I'm so fucking tired of getting this shit from people for using proper grammar. All races, with the "where are you from? You speak so well" and shit of that nature!

Am I wrong for wanting to say to them to read more often and your grammar too can improve?

I have not changed in all my years. I have been getting this all my life, my kids have gotten it and now my grand babies probably will too. Read a book, a newspaper article, a blog regularly for yourself and you too can sound like you know what the fuck you talking about.
