When does miscarriage risk drop?

Is it as soon as you hit 12 weeks?

When you're at the end of the 12 weeks like  12 weeks and 6 days. ????

My cousin is a NICU nurse, she gave me great advice. She told me rather than focus on the miscarriage rates, focus on getting to 23 weeks. She deals with babies all the time that are born as young as 23 weeks and go on to have healthy lives. I don't want to dwell on miscarriage rates, I want to focus on survival rate. Modern  technology is amazing and the fact that babies can survive when born that little is unreal but fantastic! While hitting full term is ideal, it's nice to know things can work out otherwise.

Miscarriage rates actually drop dramatically as soon as a heartbeat is seen. We were told that at 9 weeks with a heartbeat visible, miscarriage rates fall to about 3%

My doc said 10 weeks with heartbeat drops to 2%

My Ob said once they see that ultrasound and you see that heartbeat you see that heart flutter she said chance of miscarriage drops to 5%
