Remove fibroids before ivf or leave them???

Question

Hi all, I have two fibroids and I'm scared I'll have to delay my cycle to have them removed. Has anyone experienced this?

I've had two laproscopic myomectomies to remove fibroids and during my ultrasounds for IUIs the technician said she saw fibroids again. When my doctor looked at the ultrasound he said it was either medically insignificant or scar tissue. At a monitoring ultrasound 2 months after the technician said she saw several good sized fibroids, but I never followed up with the doc. Now it's one month later and we have our first ivf appointment with our doctor and he'll do a couple tests there. I'm so worried that the fibroids are back and I'll have to have surgery again. Sorry I don't have any advice but I can relate to what you are going through and I'll update on Wednesday with what the doctor says. Best of luck to you!

I have fibroids and competed IVF and currently waiting to transfer on Wednesday. My RE said the placement of the fibroids were not of a concern. Also fibroids increase and decrease with pregnancy so you could be stressing over nothing. If you are really concerned ask for a saline sonogram. It would be more detailed on the placement and size of your fibroids. Best of luck and baby dust to you 😊
